egonex-ai/understand-anything

Understand Anything is an analysis tool that scans software repositories, documentation, and Karpathy-pattern LLM wikis to construct interactive knowledge graphs. It generates plain explanations, maps dependencies across functions and classes, visualizes architectural layers, and renders a browser dashboard for visual exploration. The system also supports diff impact tracking, domain workflows, and localized output.

The project targets software engineers, engineering managers, and technical leads who need to navigate large or unfamiliar codebases during onboarding and code reviews. The GitHub snapshot shows the repository is not archived and records an MIT license. For another architecture visualization approach, compare Archify; its scope and workflow differ.

Prerequisites require a compatible AI environment, such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or Gemini CLI, alongside optional local inference through Ollama. Installation on Claude Code uses the plugin commands /plugin marketplace add Egonex-AI/Understand-Anything followed by /plugin install understand-anything. For other Unix systems, run curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Egonex-AI/Understand-Anything/main/install.sh | bash, or use iwr -useb https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Egonex-AI/Understand-Anything/main/install.ps1 | iex on Windows PowerShell. Both commands download and immediately execute remote scripts; review their source before running them. Analysis is initiated using the /understand command.
